The dreaded sex talk

Let’s face it – having sex is a lot more fun than talking about it. But couples who are having trouble in the bedroom may be at a loss as to how to approach the subject in a calm, non-confrontational way. A recent article in Fox News discusses some methods lovebirds can use to broach the topic of sexy time.

The news source suggests using the telephone to get things started – and to continue the conversation. Try sending a text message to your partner that suggests something you’d like to try in bed, or give them a ring and do the same. This may be easier than bringing up a fetish face-to-face.

It’s also important to brush up on your sex talk. While dirty-talking can be a great way to turn up the heat, it’s also important to know basic sex terms, such as names for types of condoms, sexual positions and bedroom preferences.

According to Oprah Magazine, it’s also important to be comfortable with your own body – and to know it well – before bringing up the topic of sex with your partner. Spending some time having fun with your body alone may make you more prepared when it comes time to have the discussion.
